We’re thrilled to see a long-time vision become reality with the launch of the Haynes School of Ministry! Named after Lemuel Haynes, the first African American pastor ordained in the U.S. and a faithful New England minister, the school is designed to equip and prepare future leaders for gospel work in New England’s inner cities.

As we launch this school, we invite you to join us in prayer for HSM:

  • For courage to build a robust training school when we face doubt, unbelief, and pessimism that churches cannot be planted in these neighborhoods. Nehemiah 4:16-18
  • For collaboration, not competition. Inner cities are full of suspicion and competition. Pray that kingdom-minded men and women work with one another for the glory of Christ. Psalm 133:1
  • For a school that is explicitly and doggedly Christ-centered. That HSM would not be sidetracked by cultural trends, but rather focus on the timeless truths of our Savior. 1 Corinthians 1:23
  • For competency in our mentors and instructors — that they would be men and women of humility, holiness, and the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 1:5-6

We’re grateful for our partnership with Grimké College as we fill our Academic Cohorts. And we’re thankful to Dr. Doug Logan, Jr. for advising, guiding, and preaching as we dedicated this school.
