The Household of God

Our church planter for Dorchester, Christian Michael, recently shared a short reflection from Ephesians. We pray it encourages you!

Ephesians 2:19-20:

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone.

Paul’s words in Ephesians 2 unveil a stunning reality: through Christ, those once left on the outside are drawn near and woven into a new humanity.

God’s household is not closed off; it is a place of radical embrace. For every group pushed aside, Ephesians 2 proclaims they are not strangers but treasured citizens among the saints.

In God’s family, there are no second-class members. The only household that truly matters is God’s, where everyone is fully and equally welcomed.

This is both our hope and our challenge: the barriers that once kept us apart have fallen, and every overlooked community is invited not to the margins, but to the very center of God’s family.
