“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1

We’re happy to share that New England Urban Church Planting is actively beginning the work toward a new church plant in this influential and diverse city. We’ve recently worked with a partner church to survey sections of Dorchester and Chelsea. In both we’ve met with civic leaders and residents of both these communities. We’re thankful for the hard work of Stone Hill Church, Princeton, NJ, as they spread out through these areas and helped us learn far more than we could alone in a short time. They worked hard and courageously, talking with strangers about their community. These early conversations are foundational steps in building relationships and discerning how the Lord is leading.

Christian Michael, our newest church planting resident, has been skillfully leading our survey of Dorchester in particular. His years of street experience and ministry are helping us learn well, while establishing connections with people who can open doors to the community.

We know this work can’t be done in human strength. As Psalm 127 reminds us, unless Christ builds the house our labor is in vain. That’s why your prayers are so important. Will you pray with us? Pray for wisdom, for discernment, for Christian’s preparation, and for hearts in Dorchester and Chelsea to be open to the message of the gospel.

We’ll keep you updated as things develop — thank you for praying!
